Essential functions:
- Performs semi-skilled and, as capable and as assigned, skilled work in at least one of the following:
- Class 8 truck driving
- Asphalt paving and concrete placement
- Heavy equipment operation, grade laser operation, and pipe and utility installation.
- Performs all tasks in a responsive manner by exercising a degree of independent judgment. Demonstrates initiative, creativity and leadership.
- Reports task accomplishments to supervisors and anticipates problems and recommends solutions.
- Performs routine mechanical repairs and rebuilding work on equipment beyond first echelon of maintenance.
- Assists in the completion of construction renovation projects and extensive repair work of facilities.
- Operates and maintains at least two pieces of the following equipment:
- Trucks; farm and light construction equipment; front-end loader; backhoe; bulldozer; commercial class 8 trucks, special skilled-trade tools
Other Functions:
- Carries out duties and responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner to maintain a safe work environment and surrounding area for oneself, co-workers and public. Responds to hazardous situations and/or potentially unsafe conditions by taking corrective action as capable and promptly notifying supervisory personnel.
- Informs supervisor of key issues promptly.
- Provides work direction, changes work assignments, and corrects work activity of other employees, as assigned.
- Performs related duties as apparent or assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with at least two years of skilled-level experience. Completion of an approved course in the specific trade or skilled area from an accredited technical school.
- Valid Ohio driver's license.
- Demonstrated ability to perform variable physical requirements of park construction work.
- Possess or obtain an Ohio commercial driver's license (CDL), when required by work assignment or location.
- Certification or licensure applicable to trade or specialized fields preferred.
- Experience in and knowledge of Park Operation's procedures, duties, equipment operation, calibration, and maintenance, which are ordinarily, obtained by extensive experience in a technical capacity.
- Demonstrated ability to exhibit leadership consistent with teamwork approach that recognizes contribution of all employees.
- Keeps current with new production methods, construction standards, techniques and materials by work assignment locations.
- Possess the necessary written and oral communication skills to communicate professionally.
Work Schedule: Variable - specific work days to be determined upon hire; 6:00 am - 4:30 pm
