Position Overview: The Site Technician is ultimately responsible for the quality oversight of project activities. The incumbent’s responsibilities include but are not limited to software upgrades and troubleshooting at the base of cell towers (Hubs), installing necessary equipment required for the success of the project, and reporting daily to the operations team.
Essential Functions:
Analyze and evaluate equipment, software, network security, and other areas to identify needs.
Recommend network changes to meet program goals
Install, repair, or upgrade telecommunications equipment and infrastructure within the hub including fiber installations.
Train users on the capabilities and operation of hardware and software
Maintain and upgrade existing equipment, and test systems to identify and resolve problems.
Create and maintain documentation of all incidents and roadblocks.
Keep track of equipment inventory, spares, and report to operations.
Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and legal regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
Updating knowledge: Participate in educational opportunities and read technical publications to update job knowledge.
Minimum Requirements:
2 years’ of experience
Experience troubleshooting the hub
Experience conducting software upgrades at the base of cell towers
Experience with Tberd 5200 test equipment
Experience troubleshooting inside the hub (vDU,GPS,Fibers,SFPs)
Software knowledge in Windos Console and Putty
Must have Verizon experience with 10g/3g Uplifts
