Construction Business Services (CBS) is seeking a driven and resourceful individual to join its dynamic and expanding team within the Construction organization. The ideal candidate for this role in the Labor Relations & Compliance section will be customer-focused, technologically proficient, agile, and highly organized. Attention to detail, a commitment to excellence, and a proactive, innovative mindset are essential.This individual must demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, meet deadlines consistently, and maintain a high level of personal accountability. Strong teamwork skills and a solid work ethic are also critical to success in this role.
Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Section Manager and coordinate with Con Edisons operating departments to develop and implement programs/processes to mitigate the issuance of Corrective Action Requests (CARs), Notice of Violations (NOVs), reduce the volume of permit renewals, and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Using various data analytical tools, develop multiple reports and presentations for senior leadership, CBS team, and the operating departments.
- Provide support for Construction Business Services on monitoring and tracking of metrics related to CARs, NOVs, and Permits.
- In response to inquiries from the operating departments, conduct research of CARs, NOVs, and Permits in Summons system and NYSTreets.
- Accurate documentation of Prevailing Wage and Bond paperwork into the applicable system and maintain ongoing interactions with contractors, as needed.
- Act as the Construction Business Services back-up on CAR and Prevailing Wage inquiries.
- Collaborate and conduct meetings with multiple stakeholders and assist with training needs.
- Must comply with all Construction and company procedures and follow safe work practices mandated by the company and regulations.
- Understand and be committed to fostering a culture of Zero Accident, Operational Excellence, and the enhancement of Customers Experience.
- Must participate in the companys emergency management assignment, as needed.
- Drive continuous improvement opportunities and implement strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree and 2 years relevant work experience or
- Associate's Degree and 4 years relevant work experience or
- High School Diploma/GED and 5 years relevant work experience.
- Bachelor's Degree and 2 years relevant experience. 1 year of experience associated with the New York City Department of Transportation (NYCDOT) "Highway Rules" Administrative Code or other State Agencies.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to effectively interact with internal and external customers, contractors, local, and state government agencies, if necessary. Required
- Excellent reporting and data analyzing skills set. Required
- Knowledge of Power BI, proficiency in the Microsoft Suite of programs including Excel and PowerPoint, and the ability to learn and use computer systems utilized within the company. Required
- Dependent on educational level, to include 1 year of experience associated with the New York City Department of Transportation (NYCDOT) Highway Rules Administrative Code or other Agencies. Preferred
- Knowledge of Summons System, NYCStreet, Trex System, Data Manager, and Oracle applications. Preferred

- Driver's License Required
- The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- The selected candidate must be able to travel to various locations throughout the Companys service territory as needed.
