Job Description

Turner & Townsend is looking for a Senior Program Manager to work with our team alongside a key technology client and manage data center construction. The role will be responsible to manage the project from construction phase, commissioning and close out.

The ideal candidate will be resilient, a self-starter, and able to take the initiative and drive activities with limited supervision. The ideal candidate will also have an engineering, commissioning or construction background with strong mechanical and MEP knowledge and experience.

Job Description:

  • Full time M-F on project site working in a fast-paced environment for a confidential client in the tech industry.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience managing projects as an Owner's Rep., General Contractor, Architect/Engineer, or commissioning agent
  • Interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages.
  • Manage the commissioning process, attend first of kind inspections and quality walks, technical due diligence design reviews
  • Attend factory and site acceptance tests
  • Ensure proper commissioning procedures and standards are being followed
  • Perform daily inspections walks to evaluate QA/QC, safety, and commissioning process.
  • Chair weekly QAQC/Commissioning meetings with stakeholders
  • Must be personable and display a go-getter attitude with an inherent ability to work independently.
  • Managing the flow of project information between the team and the client, through regular meetings and written communications.
  • Knowledge management Ensuring that key information and learning generated from each commission is inputted into internal databases and shared.
  • Process improvement Identifying and acting upon ways to improve internal systems and processes referring ides to the appropriate line manager.
  • Identifying ways in which project management products and services can be improved and referring ideas to the appropriate line manager.
  • Identifying and ensuring that the client and management are aware of quality, safety, health and environment issues.
  • Establishing effective project governance, processes and systems to be utilized throughout project.
  • Support field coordination between the General Contractor, Commissioning Agent, and Client.
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable

Qualifications

  • Advising at a strategic level at the project conception stage, including providing advice on the different approaches that can be adopted in order to successfully achieve the client's overall objectives.
  • Projects are managed to the right quality standards and are completed efficiently and on time.
  • Strong relationships are developed with clients and cross-functional team members.
  • Work as an effective team member within the context of delivering a specific commission.
  • Business development opportunities with existing and new clients, including cross-selling opportunities, are identified.
  • Key information and data is effectively shared and appropriately retained.

Education/Experience:

  • Background in construction (office role), client rep PM, engineering or commissioning agent background with a minimum of 5 years' experience.
  • University degree and/or PMP certification, preferably in a field related to construction.
  • Experienced managing multiple stakeholders and work stream managers.
  • Ability to be highly effective in a client facing role.
  • Experience delivering high tech and corporate interior (workspace) tenant improvement projects.
  • Experience in data center construction is preferred
