Transformational Leader Opportunity In Value Engineering, Portfolio, Cost, And Quality Management
GES NA D&C Governance seeks to enhance operational excellence by hiring a dedicated leader to transform and integrate our Value Engineering, Portfolio, Cost, and Quality Management functions. This role will develop and execute a comprehensive roadmap and program to optimize these critical business functions and drive measurable improvements in organizational performance. The program will include significant and complex initiatives that span multiple teams, and include processes, software systems and tool development. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator and develop best practices for business facing documentation including roadmaps, MBRs, and business requirements documents.
Key job responsibilities include:
- Develop strategic roadmaps for future state operating procedures
- Develop strong partnerships with Governance Pillar leads, global D&C teams, and counterpart planning, execution, and technical teams
- Establish baseline metrics and KPIs for business, system, and technology functions
- Lead stakeholder engagement, establish regular communication channels on initiatives
- Develop and implement change management strategies for business and technology implementations
- Drive execution of overall program, monitor progress, remove obstacles, report risks and dive deep as needed
- Drive continuous improvement of Governance and D&C process and mechanisms required to deliver D&C owned programs
- Develop and scale best practices related to technical document writing, new product development, technical program management, and lifecycle management

About the team: GES D&C is responsible for delivering a vast program of physical infrastructure projects throughout the Amazon North America Operations network. The GES NA D&C Governance team drives an all-mile, next-level customer experience through cost, quality, portfolio management, and project controls. This team also ensures proactive customer updates, outward communication, and holistically manages risk across NA D&C.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent
- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 7+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Proven track record in product management, program management or process improvement
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Proven analytical skills that can be used to identify systems, outliers, and opportunities
- Strong experience driving process development and improvement in cross-functional organizations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters in Engineering or MBA
- 5+ years experience in technical product management or technical program management at Amazon
- Experience with projects impacts Amazon Operations in First, Middle or Last Mile
- Experience with systems and tools pertaining to physical infrastructure or product development
- Familiarity with BI/dashboards and tools

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
