I am working with a well-established, growing residential construction company seeking a Staff Accountant
About Us
We specialize in building high-quality residential projects ranging from production style homes to large-scale communities. Our team values integrity, collaboration, and pride in craftsmanship. As our company continues to grow, we need an organized and detail-oriented accountant to help us maintain strong financial foundations.
What You'll Do:
- Prepare and process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Assist with job cost accounting, ensuring expenses are properly coded to projects.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and vendor statements.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Assist with billing, lien waivers, and draws/progress payment applications.
- Maintain accurate records and help ensure compliance with company policies and GAAP.
- Provide support to the Controller and Project Managers as needed.
What We're Looking For:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2+ years of accounting experience; construction accounting experience preferred.
- Familiarity with job costing and progress billing a plus.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
