Job Summary: EZARC, Inc. is seeking an experienced Structural & Miscellaneous Steel Fabrication/Construction Estimator to join our growing team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for structural & miscellaneous steel projects, ensuring that our bids align with industry standards and project requirements. The ideal candidate has a strong background in structural & miscellaneous steel fabrication/erection and construction estimating, with excellent analytical and communication skills. Job Responsibilities: Estimating & Bidding: Review project plans, blueprints, and specifications to determine material and labor requirements. Prepare detailed cost estimates & proposals for structural steel fabrication and erection, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Utilize Tekla PowerFab, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or other estimating software to develop accurate bids. Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and risk factors in project proposals. Prepare proposals and run estimate reviews with the project team, identifying project scope, labor needs, equipment needs, and project schedule. Material & Labor Analysis: Work with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing for raw materials, joists & decking, coatings, and hardware. Assess fabrication and erection man-hours based on job complexity and industry standards. Compare estimated vs. actual costs on completed projects to improve future estimating accuracy. Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and shop/field personnel to align estimates with actual fabrication & erection capabilities. Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to better understand project scope and constraints. Communicate with customers and general contractors to clarify project requirements and negotiate pricing. Project Management Support: Assist in project scheduling by providing estimated timelines for fabrication and delivery. Support the purchasing team by verifying material quantities and lead times. Ensure estimates comply with relevant industry standards (AISC, AWS, etc.) and EZARC policies. Participate in end of project reviews to determine areas for improvement in the estimating process. Qualifications & Skills: Experience in structural steel estimating, fabrication, or construction. Proficiency in Tekla PowerFab, Bluebeam, PlanSwift or other estimating software. Strong knowledge of structural steel materials, connections, welding, and fabrication/erection processes. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills for negotiating with vendors and coordinating with teams. Familiarity with AISC, ASTM, AWS, and OSHA standards related to structural steel. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
