Frontier-Kemper-Tutor Perini joint venture was awarded the Manhattan Tunnel Project, part of the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP). A $1.18 billion design-build contract from the Gateway Development Commission for the HTP which aims to enhance rail resiliency by adding two new tracks between New York and New Jersey and rehabilitating the storm-damaged North River Tunnel. The project includes designing and constructing twin 30-foot diameter, 700-foot-long tunnels under the Hudson River, connecting to existing tunnels beneath Hudson Yards, and an access shaft at 12th Avenue, later serving as a ventilation facility.
Extraordinary Projects Need Exceptional Talent
As a Superintendent at Frontier-Kemper, reporting to the General Superintendent, you will have the opportunity to:
- Supervise construction effort to ensure project is constructed safely in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
- Assume responsibility for planning, coordinating and supervising onsite functions (scheduling, subcontractor coordination, etc.).
- Assume responsibility for compliance of craft workers and subcontractors with contract requirements, efficient use of materials & equipment, site safety plan and timely performance of the project schedule.
- Provide technical assistance, i.e., interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc., as required.
- Assist project management in developing, project schedule, site logistics plan and implementing project procedures, working documents, standards, etc.
- Support Site Specific Safety Plan.
- Coordinate with on-site Owner employees.
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
Requirements
- 10 or more years of heavy civil construction experience
- Highschool diploma or GED
- Experience as a superintendent on large heavy civil construction projects
- Knowledge, skills and experience with U.S. construction methods, techniques, and standards.
- Experience with City, State, Federal Government Clients preferred
- Knowledge of contract management and familiarity with local trade/unions/craft
- Experienced in MS Word/Excel, Procure, Bluebeam, HCSS Heavy bid or similar software
- OSHA certification, First Aid Certs
- Excellent written and verbal skills
