The role you'll contribute:

The System Program Manager, Design and Construction Center of Excellence (CoE) plans, develops, and executes best practice for system wide strategic initiatives established by the D&C COE in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations and organizational guidelines. This individual is an integral member of the CoE overseeing development and integration of the AdventHealth Way standards, guidelines, playbooks, and technologies. The System Program Manager is expected to have a deep understanding of healthcare design and construction and expertise in assigned relevant subject matter area on equipment, design, construction and project controls. This individual will report to the System Program Director, Design and Construction.

  • The System Program Manager will collaborate on the planning, training, implementation and maintenance of the project management tool used to manage strategic capital project capital and operating budgets, standardized reporting tools and other processes as needed.
  • This individual contributes to the standardization and ensures consistent application of the AdventHealth Way technology solutions used for construction delivery and is expected to have a deep understanding of the healthcare design and construction project management standards, practices, workflow, contract administration, financial reporting to improve efficiency, productivity and to deliver financial value.
  • This individual will demonstrate critical skills in the organization and communication of data, and execution of deliverables in a timely and efficient manner for customer implementation.
  • Work with CoE Business Analyst to create and maintain comprehensive CoE value analysis and initiatives documentation, tracking and benchmarking.
  • Supports executions and implementation of key initiatives for D&C CoE for design and construction requirements to achieve value.
  • Serve as subject matter expert on equipment, design and construction materials and methodologies, prefabrication and bulk-buy strategies and project delivery workflows and controls
  • Evaluates current systems and processes to determine and establish industry best practices, develops and implements highest level of standards for a comprehensive Center of Excellence program.
  • Engage and manage cross-functional teams through the CoE community of practice and consensus building processes to identify roles and responsibilities, tasks, deliverables, dependencies, and schedules to ensure resolution and execution.
  • Utilize regional subject matter experts to inform rationalization and standardization of the processes, and methodologies that reduce variation, and increasing efficiency.
  • Support management of program initiatives through projects that include development of system standards, progress, and executive reporting to CoE Cabinet. Tracks and manages program schedules from established plans and timelines.
  • Identifies and analyzes data to determine organizational trends and post occupancy performance, incorporating innovative technologies and best practices into the system standards and support programs.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to project teams, resolving any issues or challenges that arise during the construction process.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

Education and experience required:

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or related
  • Minimum (10) years management experience in project or facilities management coordinating the conceptual planning through the completion phases in the design and construction of health care.

Knowledge and experience strongly preferred:

  • Expert knowledge of local Department of Health Administration regulations, JCAHO / DNV standards, and other applicable codes of the construction industry.
  • Expert knowledge of the design and construction industry and standard practices, and how they relate to healthcare facilities.
  • Expert understanding of architectural practices including master planning, feasibility studies, medical planning, building design and construction documents.
  • Comprehensive understating of Owner Furnished Equipment such as modular furniture, interior finishes, medical equipment, and artwork.
  • Comprehensive understanding of large engineering systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and engineering maintenance, including ability to problem solve effectively.
  • Excellent project management, financial analysis, and strategic planning skills required.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents, Revit, CAD drawings and related documents.

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required (within 1 Year of Hire):

  • Evidence Based Design Certification (EDAC) designation from The Center of Health Design or
  • Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) designation from the American Society of Healthcare Engineering or
  • LEAN Practitioner Certification from the LEAN Construction Institute
