Job Overview Komatsu is seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Technology Support Engineer to join our team. This role is essential for ensuring the continuous operation and enhancement of Komatsu machines, hardware, software, and onboard electrical systems. The successful candidate will support and improve onboard systems such as telematics, payload systems, and object detection systems, ensuring they meet high standards of precision, functionality, and accuracy. Responsibilities Provide high-value technical support to the Regional Sales team, Major Accounts, distributors, and internal personnel through daily support activities, technology training, and customer visits. Develop a high mechanical aptitude, act as a self-starter, and learn new technologies. Become a subject matter expert in technology controls across assigned product lines, train others, and create self-help tools for the North American Region. Support Level 2 of the Service Diagnostic Tool (SDT). Analyze failure and resolution data, present findings internally and to manufacturing plants, and collaborate to resolve hardware or software issues. Participate in Kaizen activities to improve product quality. Become the SME for payload systems and support related systems such as machine communication, camera and object detection troubleshooting, proactive failure analysis, tele remote systems, and emerging technologies. Qualifications Position based at our Chicago North American Headquarters; relocation may be considered. Travel requirement of 20-30%, mainly to distributors or customers. Minimum two-year Associates Degree; Bachelors degree preferred. 3-5 years experience with GPS technology; experience with Topcon, Leica, Trimble is a plus. Experience in construction, mining, or agriculture industries. Strong communication skills, comfortable presenting to groups both remotely and in person. Basic hydraulic troubleshooting and intermediate electrical troubleshooting (CAN systems, PWM, etc.). Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective time management. Ability to analyze complex technical issues, identify root causes, and lead resolutions. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Additional Information Compensation Annual salary ranges from $76,600 to $95,700, based on experience and location.
