The Temporary Safety Trained Supervisor (STSC) is a full-time role assigned to a single active construction site for a limited duration and is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, conducting safety inspections, and promoting a safe work environment.

Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing the following regularly or as a backup:

  • Serve as the primary safety contact for the assigned construction site
  • Conduct continuous site safety inspections and hazard assessments
  • Lead safety briefings, toolbox talks, and training sessions
  • Monitor compliance with OSHA standards and company safety policies
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses; recommend corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation and logs
  • Collaborate with site leadership to resolve safety concerns
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

  • Active STSC certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP)
  • Experience managing safety on a single-site construction project
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (i.e.: Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)

Comfortable working within Windows-based platforms

Must be able to communicate effectively in English and work cooperatively with individuals at all levels, including customers, employees, unions, government agencies, vendors, suppliers and other contractors.

This role involves frequent movement around an active construction site, including walking on uneven surfaces, climbing ladders or scaffolding, and standing for long periods. The candidate may work in various weather conditions and around loud noise and typical site hazards. PPE is required. Occasionally the role may involve lifting and carrying up to fifty (50) pounds. Clear vision and communication skills are needed to read safety signs, review documents, and interact effectively with team members and vendors.

This role is based at a single active construction site. While some tasks may be completed in a site office, most responsibilities take place in busy, outdoor work areas. Conditions can change depending on the project and weather, with exposure to dust, noise, and typical construction activities. The position requires flexibility, awareness, and the ability to stay focused and professional in a fast-moving team environment.
