Responsibilities Brasfield & Gorrie is currently accepting applications for a Tower Crane Operator. Below are the main responsibilities for this position.

Operate tower and cable equipment to lift and move materials, machines, or products in many directions on a commercial construction project
Interpret and follow all hand, radio, or voice signals
Operate tower crane to perform hoisting operations as required
Complete daily and weekly inspection and maintenance reports
Perform daily pre-operational checks and basic maintenance on equipment
Know and use instrument and control panels for the crane
Work in all types of weather conditions
Adhere strictly to safety protocols and company policies
Maintain a drug-free work environment
Take part in lift planning and attend required safety meetings
Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience 5 years’ commercial construction tower crane operator experience preferred
Must have a current and valid NCCCO certification for the type of crane being operated
Certification card and proof of medical fitness for duty (either physical or DOT medical card) must be kept on file
Must pass both written and practical tests for the specific crane type
Must be medically fit for duty (verified by a physical exam or DOT medical card)
Familiar with tools and processes commonly used on a construction site
Knowledge of regulations, safety requirements, and company/site policies applicable to crane operators
Ability to read, understand, and follow load charts
Can clearly follow instructions and work as part of a team
Must fluently speak and write English
Familiar with construction safety practices and PPE requirements
Able to physically perform duties (climb ladders, get in/out of cab, lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights)
