Responsibilities
- Perform field inspections of bridge painting and coating operations, ensuring conformance with project plans, specifications, and industry standards.
- Monitor surface preparation and coating application to ensure compliance with SSPC standards, including environmental controls, blast profile, DFT (dry film thickness), and cure times.
- Conduct adhesion and coating integrity testing (e.g., holiday testing, pull-off testing) and maintain detailed inspection records.
Requirements
- Minimum 5-10 years of construction inspection experience, with a focus on bridge painting/coating projects.
- SSPC/AMPP Certification (e.g., PCI Level III or NBPI - National Bridge Painting Inspector).
- Thorough knowledge of industry standards and specifications: (SSPC)
- Ability to interpret and apply contract documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Proficiency in using inspection tools (DFT gauges, surface profile comparators, hygrometers, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and reporting skills.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to field locations.
