Job Summary: Under broad supervision, responsible for underwriting risk throughout the underwriting lifecycle from submission through policy issuance, for both renewal and new business within limited authority. Partnering with Underwriters on all aspects of the underwriting function, including providing the necessary information to allow for prudent underwriting decisions. Responsibilities: Perform underwriting analysis and documentation to determine acceptability of risk in accordance with company guidelines and standards for renewal and new business within assigned Letter of Underwriting Authority. Handle endorsement requests within delegated authority. Refer endorsements outside of authority to underwriter with recommended action. Engage agency independently to clarify endorsement intent or seek missing information. Manage assigned renewal book within authority and triage renewal applications/specs, outlining next steps for the underwriter. Serve as liaison within the branch or across CNA to resolve issues related to billing, collections, risk control, and underwriting guidance. Document assigned files ensuring completeness, compliance, and quality (correspondence, proposals, endorsements, cancellations). Execute advanced pricing strategies using business unit pricing tools, ensuring compliance with regulations and CNA strategies, and document pricing rationale. Complete quote proposals and negotiate with external partners within assigned authority. Act as the first-line contact for producers/customers regarding account matters, proactively identifying opportunities for upselling or account rounding. Assist in marketing products and services through external partners and conduct field visits. Be an expert on systems and workflows; serve as a resource for training, problem-solving, coaching, and feedback. Stay current on business strategy, state/territory issues, regulations, and trends. Perform additional duties as assigned. Reporting Relationship: Supervisor or Manager Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Knowledge of Property and Casualty underwriting, insurance products, policy processing procedures, and documentation. Strong time management and analytical skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively at all levels. Ability to work independently on multiple tasks. Capability to advise and coach others. Customer service experience and ability to interact with diverse individuals via various communication channels. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software. Education & Experience: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
