Utility Construction Apprentice

Utility Construction Apprentice is manual to semi-skilled work in the construction and repair of sewer lines. Work involves performing a variety of manual maintenance work related to the replacement or extension of existing sewer lines and the construction of new catch basins or manholes.

Qualifications: High school diploma or General Equivalency Degree (G.E.D) or, any equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the duties of the job such as those listed above. Experience in the maintenance and repair of sewer lines, knowledge of basic methods, materials and equipment used in sewer construction and maintenance work. Valid driver's license. Must hold or be able to obtain a Class A CDL within 90 days of hiring.

All applicants for this position who do not presently hold a safety sensitive position with the Unified Government will be required to submit to a drug test after successful bid and before actual appointment. This position is regulated by the US Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and is subject to as drug and alcohol testing regulations as identified in 49 CFR Part 40, as amended, and 49 CFR Part 382, as amended.

Salary Range: $26.22/hr.
