Vice President, Data Center Development & Construction Operations

Client seeks a seasoned leader to oversee operational frameworks, processes, and administration for its national data center development and construction portfolio. Reporting to the SVP, this role ensures consistency, efficiency, and scalability across all projects while acting as the department’s operational backbone.

Key Focus Areas Operational Excellence – Create, refine, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the entire project lifecycle, driving efficiency, quality, and scalability. Portfolio Oversight – Manage budgeting, scheduling, and KPI reporting across multiple data center projects; provide executive-level performance dashboards. Leadership & Mentorship – Mentor and develop project managers, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration. Risk & Contract Management – Standardize RFP, bidding, and contracting processes; support high-level negotiations; ensure compliance and mitigate risks. Systems & Reporting – Act as the SME for job cost tracking and project management tools, ensuring data integrity and actionable insights. Cross-Functional Collaboration – Partner with Legal, Asset Management, Acquisitions, and Accounting to align operations with business goals. Compliance & Quality Control – Ensure adherence to all regulatory, safety, and quality standards.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (business, construction management, engineering, or related; advanced degree preferred). 15+ years in construction/development management, with extensive data center experience. Proven track record in operational process creation, team leadership, and large-scale project oversight. Strong expertise in contracts, risk management, budgeting, scheduling, and industry-standard project management systems.
