Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Virtual Design Construction (VDC) Manager to lead our digital construction efforts across all phases of project delivery. This pivotal role drives innovation, enhances coordination, and improves efficiency through the use of cutting-edge technology, including Building Information Modeling (BIM), 4D scheduling, and model-based logistics planning.

You will oversee companywide VDC standards, lead strategic initiatives, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure excellence in execution and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implementation of company-wide VDC standards, ensuring consistency, compliance, and continuous improvement across all projects.
  • Provide strategic oversight of VDC initiatives, aligning digital construction processes with operational and field execution goals.
  • Proficient in the BIM clash detection process, working with subcontractors using Autodesk Navisworks and can generate clash reports.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and quality assurance of VDC deliverables from preconstruction through project closeout.
  • Oversee the creation and management of intelligent 3D models, shop drawings, and fabrication-level detailing to support prefabrication and field installation.
  • Directly coordinate with internal project managers, field leadership, and trade partners to resolve clashes, sequencing issues, and constructability challenges through model-based coordination.
  • Facilitate virtual coordination meetings with internal stakeholders, clients, and design teams to ensure seamless collaboration and timely issue resolution.
  • Interface with operations and field teams to incorporate VDC insights into construction planning, logistics, and schedule alignment.
  • Evaluate emerging construction technologies and tools, making recommendations for adoption and integration.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related AEC Technology field.
  • Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, field sequencing, and Structural and MEP systems.
  • Demonstrated experience managing VDC workflows on complex, multi-phase commercial or industrial construction projects.
  • Proficient in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD MEP; experience with Evolve Electrical, Synchro, Solibri, Tekla, and other modeling tools is highly preferred.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills with a collaborative and solution-oriented mindset.
