Job Details
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support the execution of mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role works closely with Project Managers and field teams to ensure project milestones are achieved on time, within scope, and on budget—while upholding safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities: Assist in managing HVAC, plumbing, and piping projects from planning to completion Support procurement, subcontractor coordination, and equipment rentals Prepare and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost tracking Review drawings, RFIs, submittals, and specifications for accuracy and alignment Document meeting notes, logs, change orders, and project communications Attend project meetings with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders Track scope changes, pricing updates, and change orders Collaborate with field teams to troubleshoot issues and maintain timelines Monitor on-site safety compliance in coordination with the Safety Manager Assist with commissioning, punch lists, and close-out documentation
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience 2+ years of experience supporting construction projects, ideally in mechanical systems Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project) Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills Ability to read and interpret construction documents and plans
Preferred Qualifications: OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Certification Experience with BIM, AutoCAD, or Revit Understanding of union and non-union environments
