Certified Construction Estimator

We're looking for a detail-oriented Construction Cost Estimator to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for preparing and reviewing comprehensive cost estimates for a variety of construction projects. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure estimates are accurate, complete, and aligned with project goals. Your expertise will help drive cost-effective decisions and mitigate financial risks.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review detailed cost estimates for hard bids, negotiated bids, and design-build projects.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and contracts to identify cost risks and opportunities.
- Develop and maintain estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Conduct site visits and engage with stakeholders to validate assumptions and gather data.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure estimate accuracy.
- Stay current on construction methods, materials, and market trends.
- Monitor market conditions including material pricing, labor rates, and subcontractor availability.
- Provide expert guidance on value engineering, cost-saving strategies, and risk mitigation.
- Maintain estimating tools, databases, and documentation to support project planning.
- Participate in bid reviews, scope reviews, and project meetings.
- Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and industry partners.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
- Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or Certified Cost Estimator (CCE).
- 5+ years of experience in construction estimating within a similar industry.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as Excel, RS Means, Timberline, or similar tools.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
- Master's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Additional certifications such as LEED AP or PMP.
- Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and digital construction tools.
- Familiarity with industry software like Procore or PlanGrid.
- Experience on large-scale commercial, industrial, or government construction projects.
