Job Details: Are you a seasoned professional in construction accounting looking for a new challenge? We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented Construction Accounting Specialist to join our team. This full-time, permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in our financial operations. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting within our construction business, including but not limited to accounts receivable, invoicing, and subcontractor billing. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction accounting practices and a proven track record in managing financials in the construction industry.
Responsibilities: As a Construction Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for:
1. Overseeing all aspects of accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate billing and collections. 2. Managing all invoicing processes, including AIA billings and subcontractor billing. 3. Utilizing QuickBooks and Excel to maintain accurate records and generate financial reports. 4. Collaborating with project managers to ensure accurate job costing and profitability analysis. 5. Coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers for proper documentation, including lien releases and certificates of insurance. 6. Assisting with month-end close procedures and preparing financial statements. 7. Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A minimum of 2 years of experience in construction accounting. 2. Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and Excel. 3. Solid experience with AIA billings and subcontractor billing. 4. Strong understanding of accounting principles, including accounts receivable and general ledger. 5. Experience working with general contractors and a familiarity with construction industry practices. 6. Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. 7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 8. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
