Position Summary:

The Construction Laborer is responsible for driving to and from job sites to assist tradesmen by unloading and loading materials required for the construction process. This position helps work run smoother by cleaning and preparing sites to ensure debris is properly removed, and operating and maintaining company vehicles for material transportation.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Drive to job sites to assist tradesmen and machine operators in construction projects.
2. Erect and break up scaffolding, ramps, etc. with attention to safety.
3. Unload and carry materials at construction sites.
4. Clean out sites from debris and discarded material.
5. Place signs/traffic signals where appropriate in and around job sites.
6. Maintain a safe and clean job site by handling materials and storing them properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in use, and securing the job site on a daily basis.
7. Inspect vehicles for mechanical items/safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
8. Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
9. Collect and verify job site delivery/assistance instructions.
10. Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.

Immediate Supervisor: This position reports to the Driver Superintendent.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

1. Proven work experience driving a truck.
2. Ability to drive long hours.
3. Valid driver's license and no recent driving violations.
4. Ability to lift heavy equipment and materials.
5. Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines.
