Construction Manager

AECOM is actively seeking a Construction Manager for immediate employment in Orange, CA. The Construction Manager will be responsible for:

  • Leading and overseeing the construction management staff in the field
  • Ensuring successful delivery of the project and implementation of project plans and specifications
  • Serving as the main point of contact for the client
  • Developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans
  • Coordinating with subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely project completion
  • Conducting regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications
  • Managing and resolving on-site issues and conflicts
  • Preparing and presenting progress reports to clients and upper management
  • Implementing and enforcing safety protocols and procedures
  • Reviewing and approving change orders and contract modifications
  • Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Mentoring and developing junior staff members
  • Participating in project planning and risk assessment activities
  • Collaborating with design teams to resolve constructability issues
  • Managing project documentation and maintaining accurate records

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • California PE License.
  • Experience working with Metrolink, UPRR, SANDAG, BNSF, NCTD, SBCTA, and/or LA Metro.
  • Excellent Communication Skills.
  • Experience overseeing a project staff.
  • Strong understanding of construction standards and specifications.
  • Ability to obtain railroad specific required safety training.
  • Experience writing and negotiating change orders.
  • Experience with dispute resolution and claims.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as Construction Manager or Resident Engineer on public works rail projects with construction value $20M+.
  • Railroad Grade Separation Experience.
  • Existing relationships with railroad entities in Southern California.
  • Technical Writing skills.
  • Experience in pursuit interviews as key staff.
