Superintendent – REC Industries, Inc. Summary Description A Construction Superintendent at REC Industries is a pivotal role on a construction site. It is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all construction activities from initiation to completion. The Construction Superintendent will ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently while ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Overseeing On-Site Operations: Physically present on the job site daily, managing day-to-day operations and ensuring smooth workflow. Scheduling and Planning: Develop and manage project schedules, coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers, ensuring timely material deliveries, and adjusting the schedule as needed. Quality Control and Safety: Conduct inspections to ensure work meets project specifications and quality standards, enforce safety regulations, identify and mitigate hazards, and maintain a safe working environment. Resource and Budget Management: Track and manage project costs, expenses, and resources (labor, equipment, materials), ensuring the project adheres to the budget. Communication and Collaboration: Act as the primary point of contact between the project manager, subcontractors, general contractors, owners, and other stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and resolving conflicts effectively. Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of project activities, including daily logs, progress reports, safety documentation, and any deviations from the plan. Qualifications Required Education: High School Diploma or GED Experience: 10 years of experience in commercial general construction License: Must have a current and valid driver’s license. Travel: Must be able to travel to job site(s) as assigned. Safety: Wear all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the job tasks being performed. Technical Skills: Proficiency in construction management software (such as Trimble ProjectSight or Procore), knowledge of construction methods and materials, and ability to interpret subcontracts scope of work, purchase orders, project plans and specifications, blueprints, and all other applicable documentation. Soft Skills: Strong leadership, strong communication (both written and verbal), problem-solving, decision-making, time management, people management, ability to work on a team Preferred Education: Associates Degree or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or a related field Experience: 10+ years of experience in commercial general construction, Institutional Construction, and Industrial Construction Safety: Completed an OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 safety course Equipment: Certified to operate any equipment that may be used on the project, owned or rented by the company, including but not limited to forklifts and scissor lifts.
