About the role
The purpose of the Project Manager role will be to play a critical role in leading highly visible ground-up & retrofit construction projects. This position will have direct accountability for project delivery including defining project requirements, prepare scope of work, project delivery resource requirements, cost estimate & budget, cash flow, work plan schedule, milestones, quality control, and risk identification.
The ideal candidate will have proven abilities in the management of construction projects related to retail, corporate, healthcare, industrial, or life sciences industries. Must be able to manage multiple projects concurrently with competing demands, be very detail-oriented and organized with excellent communication skills and a mindset for best-in-class service. This is not a remote position and requires someone residing within the Greater Austin area primarily working day-to-day from the downtown Austin regional office or intermittently at client project sites when necessary.
What you’ll do
Lead all facets of project management (budget, schedule, procurement, quality & risk) for various projects requiring a focus on industrial, office, life sciences, healthcare facilities and retail. Includes development of construction budgets for specific projects.
Conduct periodic site visits to lead all aspects of the progress of construction and monitor the status of work completed during the delivery schedule.
Contracts for and supervises consultant, contractors and vendor services as required.
Harness CBRE standards to complex real estate documents related to agreements, contracts, leases, work letters, project charters, surveys, and drawings.
Support construction and renovation projects and ensure project team understands and implements safety requirements, operations, policies, and procedures.
Build strong relationships with clients, both external and internal, to ensure projects are delivered against established expectations and to explore opportunities for improvements.
Identify project delivery resources from pre-qualified lists or through individual project qualification processes; conduct standard requests for proposals; complete bid analysis; recommend resources to clients.
Implement communication plan for meetings and written reports/meeting minutes to keep client and project resources briefed.
What you’ll need
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS/BEng/BArch) preferred or 3-5 years of construction project management experience in lieu of degree may be acceptable.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience managing construction projects related to manufacturing, industrial, retail, life science, or healthcare facilities.
Prior experience with reading and understanding architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and civil drawings.
Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
Must be fluent and proficient with reading, writing and verbal communication in English.
