Description
The Traveling Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of large-scale, ground-up commercial construction projects across diverse U.S. markets, from preconstruction through final closeout. This individual will serve as the central point of contact between ownership, design teams, and field operations, ensuring that each project is delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate brings a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, and navigating regional nuances with ease. A strategic thinker and proactive problem-solver, this person is highly organized, communicates effectively with stakeholders at all levels, and is driven to deliver exceptional results on every project.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Oversee all phases of large-scale commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout across various U.S. markets
Manage project budgets, cost tracking, and forecasting to ensure financial targets are met
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are achieved
Serve as the primary liaison between ownership, architects, engineers, and field teams to align project goals
Lead project meetings with stakeholders and provide regular updates on progress, issues, and changes
Review and approve submittals, RFIs, change orders, and pay applications in coordination with field and design teams
Ensure compliance with contract documents, company standards, and industry regulations
Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively resolving issues that could impact schedule or budget
Coordinate procurement efforts, long-lead item tracking, and material deliveries to support timely execution
Support project closeout activities including final documentation, commissioning, and turnover to the client.

Profile

7+ years of experience managing large-scale commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout - essential
Proven ability to deliver complex projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards - essential
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to coordinate with owners, design teams, and field personnel - essential
Willingness and ability to travel frequently and manage projects across various U.S. markets - essential
In-depth knowledge of project budgeting, scheduling, contracts, and cost control processes - preferred
Proficiency with project management software and tools (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Primavera, Bluebeam) - preferred
Experience across sectors such as life sciences, data centers, healthcare, or education - preferred
Job Offer
Base salary between $155,000 and $175,000, depending on experience
