Open Position: Regional Director of Construction
The Regional Director of Construction is responsible for overseeing all construction operations within a specified geographic region determined by the Senior Vice-President of Construction. This role involves managing multiple offices simultaneously, ensuring quality and compliance with building codes, budgets, and timelines. The Regional Director will lead a team of construction managers and collaborate with various stakeholders to achieve company goals such as quality start and closings and industry leading customer satisfaction.
Duties
Recruit, interview, hire, and training of supervisory and management staff in the department.
Oversight of the daily workflow of the team.
Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
Handle disciplinary action and termination of employees and in accordance with company policy.
Deliver, through engaged employees, quality starts and closings to meet or exceed plan.
Maximize profitability by improving gross margins and eliminating waste.
Enforces use of Wayne Homes construction systems and processes.
Manage and mentor construction managers and field managers, promoting a culture of safety, quality, and teamwork.
Develop and manage project budgets, analyze costs, and implement cost-control measures to maximize profitability.
Ensure all construction activities adhere to quality standards, building codes, and regulations.
Work closely with support staff, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to facilitate smooth project execution and resolve any issues that arise.
Stay informed about local building regulations and zoning laws, ensuring all projects comply with these requirements.
Identify potential risks in projects and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on project status, budgets, and resource needs.
Assist in the identification and pursuit of new business opportunities within the assigned regions.

Qualifications
Associates degree required, bachelors preferred.
At least 10 years of industry-related experience including three years in upper management required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Must be able to type 30 wpm.
Must be a licensed insurable driver with clean driving report.
Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and safety standards
Ability to travel within the region as needed, with occasional overnight travel.
