CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT As a member of the HQ construction team, you will oversee and own the day-to-day site management of fast-paced, high-impact construction jobs across all programs. Initially, you will manage construction and facilities for our West Coast Recovery Site, overseeing project schedules, deliverables, construction, communication, and minor repairs. You will supervise and lead a team of laborers and contractors to build and activate infrastructure for projects in Long Beach and Hawthorne, CA. Responsibilities Oversee daily site management of high-impact construction projects, including logistics, schedules, and resource allocation. Plan, supervise, and manage construction projects across SpaceX campuses using independent judgment. Implement and enforce safety policies, promoting a safety culture on site. Coordinate daily activities and resolve conflicts among contractors and internal teams. Manage site logistics, including deliveries, inventory, storage, and staging of materials. Maintain site cleanliness and compliance with SWPP and regulations. Create and update schedules for workers and subcontractors in collaboration with engineering and project management teams. Maintain daily logs and report operational status to management. Manage construction assets such as trailers and rental equipment. Procure and execute specific projects delegated by engineering and project management: Provide budget estimates based on project scope. Gather proposals, assign contracts, and develop project schedules and costs. Track project progress and coordinate with end users and facilities teams. Manage night shift contracts as needed. Adjust operations to meet deadlines and address issues promptly to ensure schedule and quality standards. Handle contractor badging and security. Basic Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 5+ years of experience in construction management, including team supervision and contract labor management. Preferred Skills and Experience Experience in technical fields or managing multidisciplinary teams. Familiarity with project management and scheduling software. Basic AutoCAD skills. Knowledge of permitting and environmental processes. Understanding of civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, piping, geotechnical, and surveying disciplines. Experience in estimating, cost control, scheduling, and contractor management. Ability to read and review technical drawings. Adaptability to changing roles in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication and initiative. Additional Requirements Ability to obtain TSA Transportation Worker Identification Credential. Ability to work at heights over 200 feet. Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Exposure to outdoor elements and work environment with fumes, odors, and noise. Flexibility for extended hours and weekends as needed. Valid California driver’s license. Occasional travel to support site operations. Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $125,000 - $175,000 per year, determined based on experience and skills. Includes potential bonuses, stock options, comprehensive health coverage, 401(k), paid leave, and other perks. Employees accrue paid vacation and holidays. ITAR Requirements Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee, or eligible for necessary authorizations under U.S. export regulations.
