Your new company: General Contractor hiring for a Construction Assistant Project Manager with 3+ years of experience to work on large scale mission critical data center projects in Northern Virginia. Your new role: As an Assistant Project Manager you will provide administrative and project management support to the Project and Field Management construction team. Initially, the primary projects you will support on will be all in Northern Virginia and on new greenfield data center projects. Longer-term, there will be an increased variety of projects you could work on including Office, Healthcare, Education and Multifamily. Your task is to support the construction team to ensure that targets set for the project are completed to the required standard of quality and within the set time and budget. You will be involved in a variety of tasks including project scheduling, bidding, take-offs, procurement and cost controls; as well as the management of RFI's, submittals and change orders. What you'll need to succeed: 3+ years' experience working in the construction industry for a general contractor or subcontractor. Experience in commercial construction, this could be on new build or interior renovation projects. High preference for Data Center construction experience however the GC will be heavily investing into your career. Bachelor's degree in a construction related discipline preferred but not essential. This is a fast-paced construction position so you will need to be able to multi-task and be an excellent communicator and able to work with different personalities and levels of seniority within an organization. Experience in any construction software experience you have such as procore or bluebeam in addition to proficiency in Microsoft packages is a plus. Candidates must be US Citizens and be local to the DC area.
